Naples and Pompeii

We emerged from our cave in the morning to a panoramic view of Naples Harbor.  After breakfast, we boarded our bus for Pompeii.  Before entering the busy site, we were ushered into a cameo factory tour with restrooms as our reward.  The excavated Pompeii ruins have increased in size considerably in recent years and most of the artifacts have been moved to Museums; so it is mostly foundations and walls.  But it became easy to imagine the city as it was 2000 years ago as the guide filled us in with interesting details. Arriving back at the ship, we hoped to explore the old city of Naples.  As soon as we started walking away from the terminal, we were blasted with wind and rain.  We settled for shopping in the terminal stores instead.  Esther bought a linen dress and shirt and I bought a leather belt.  We are starting to get to know our dining room servers: Angelica from the Philippines and Virimai from Zimbabwe.
